Heavy Metal Magazine featured many artists over the years, but perhaps it is most famous for bringing Italian comic book writer Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri to prominence. His Morbus Gravis (Severe Disease) series was featured frequently between 1985 and 2018. The story features a woman named Druua who adventures her way through an apocalyptic wasteland where circumstances abound for extreme adult situations.
This issue is perhaps the most extreme of them all. Be advised.
Of course, the content is a big part of the popularity, but these are actually BEAUTIFULLY illustrated stories. Serpieri is a true master.
This is a rare and highly sought after issue. Many hardcover editions of this story have been sold out long ago.
